| Hong Kong Day 1 |

I'm in Hong Kong. Getting here wasn't a pleasant experience:
Train to London, tube to Heathrow. Checked in. Plane to Beijing. No problems there.
I had an hour and a half in Beijing, ought to have been plenty of time to get my transfer flight to Hong Kong. After lots of searching I found the check in desk, where they informed me I would need to get my luggage from the previous flight. I had been told before it would go right through, but If it needed manually transferring, fair enough. Waited for about half an hour by the baggage carrousel, and it didn't turn up. Then the girl from the check in desk walked up to me and told me to get my flight, the luggage had already gone through.
Time was getting short, so had to start running now. A guy came up to me, and asked me to show him my ticket, which I did. He dragged me half way around the airport and then asked for a tip. There wasn’t time to argue, so I gave him 50HKD, the smallest denomination I had. Turns out he had no idea where he was going and just wanted the money. Now I'm stuck in the middle of a Chinese airport with ten ten minuets to go through check in and get on the plane. This was kind of stressful. Ran around, and eventually found the right place to check in, pushed to the front of the line and got through. The plane waited for me. Sat down, streaming with sweat, and the guy next to me promptly got up to find another seat. Don't blame him really.
Arrived in Hong Kong. My bag didn't. With any luck they will find it and get in touch. At the moment I have my laptop and camera with me and that's it.

Sounds like quite an adventure! My Dad works in China regularly & he does it the opposite way round - he flies to Hong Kong & gets a connection to China ^-^
Ah, presumably he doesn’t book at lastminuet.com?
Wow! I've never seen Hong Kong so... unpopulated!
Are you there on a picture-taking trip, or...?
Picture taking trip/holiday type thing...
i have ALWAYS wanted to go to HK...Sorry things are going so difficult for you! Those photos are absolutely drop-dead gorgeous, though. I can't wait to hear/see more of what happens...!
Ah, no problem, it just…added to the experience. Or something.
crikey woman! and why are we in hong kong? i am so jealous :)
Heh, man actually. Just here on holiday really, with the tourist photo impulse on overdrive.
! i'm sorry :) i don't know why i assumed you were female...
Probably my name. Not entirely sure what my parents were thinking there...
But hey, if I go to Korea it will make more sense, where Kim is a last name.
i saw your pictures and i like them add me?
Having seen you run makes the tale all the more exciting.
At least i think i've seen you run.
I can certainly imagine you running...
Either way, hopefully the bag will turn up. Goddam incompetants.
You have never seen me run. And that's quite a nasty thing to say just because I have two artificial legs. Hmm, maybe someone online will take this seriously, and hate you for being so insensitive.
The bag did turn up, at 12:00 last night. Win. If the people working in Hong Kong lost luggage were working in Beijing check in, they wouldn't have gone missing in the first place.
